Deriv Option Trading Bot – Trend Setter Normal Deriv Bot

I’ve got a new bot to talk about — I call it Trend Setter Normal, and I’ve been running it on Deriv’s Rise/Fall market on my actual real account. Let’s talk through how it works.

The core of Trend Setter Normal’s decision-making is the Donchian Channel — a trend technical analysis tool that’s been around for a long time in trading. It tracks the highest high and lowest low over a set number of price periods, and when price pushes past one of those boundaries, that’s treated as a sign of real directional strength. The bot jumps in with the trend at that point.

One thing that’s specific to this bot: it’s built to run on low volatility markets. Donchian breakouts are cleaner and more trustworthy when the price isn’t jumping around erratically — a calmer chart gives a much more reliable read.

How the Stakes Work

Every sequence starts small — a base stake of just $0.35. Win a trade, and it resets right back to that base. Lose one, and the bot bumps the next stake up — martingale — so that when a win comes, it covers what was lost and adds a bit of profit on top.

I’ll say the same thing here I always say about martingale: it’s a genuinely effective recovery tool, but it’s not risk-free. Longer losing streaks mean higher stakes. That’s exactly why the rules below aren’t optional extras.

The Rules I Actually Follow

Keep sessions short. Don’t run Trend Setter Normal, or any Deriv bot really, for more than 15 to 20 minutes at a time. Less time in the market means better risk control, and protecting your capital always comes first.

Match your account size to the bot. With around $50 in your account, this bot fits well — start at $0.35, set your stop-loss at $20. That stop-loss is your hard limit, full stop.

Run it on the right market. This one’s specific to Trend Setter Normal — it’s built for low volatility indices. Trying to run it on a wild, choppy market works against the whole strategy.

Only use the official platform. It comes as an XML file, meant to run exclusively on Deriv’s official DBot platform at dbot.deriv.com. Nowhere else.

Test on demo first. Every single time. Before real money touches this bot, run it on demo. Watch how the Donchian entries trigger, watch how martingale responds if there’s a losing stretch, and only move to real trading once you’re actually comfortable.

Then go live, with discipline. Once you’ve tested it and you’re happy with what you see, move to your real account and keep applying the same approach.

How’s It Actually Performing?

I ran a real session recently — 35 trades total, 21 wins and 14 losses, which works out to a 60% win rate. Total staked was $25.81, total paid back was $32.46, for a net profit of $6.65, and the real account balance closed at $35.56.

That’s a solid result, and I’m sharing it because it’s real — not cherry-picked, not simulated. But I want to be clear: this is one session, and it’s not a promise of what every session will look like. Trend-following strategies like this one can hit rough patches when markets get choppy instead of trending cleanly, and the martingale piece means a longer losing streak than what I saw here would mean noticeably bigger stakes.

Bottom Line

Trend Setter Normal uses the Donchian Channel to catch trend breakouts, starts small at $0.35, leans on martingale to recover from losses, and is built specifically for low volatility markets. If you try it: keep sessions to 15–20 minutes, set your stop-loss at $20 on a $50 account, only run the official XML on dbot.deriv.com, and always test on demo before going live.

Protect your capital first. Let the results speak for themselves over time, not over one session.
